Help, need a hotel!

I%26#39;m travelling to France with my 12 year old daughter this summer. I%26#39;m travelling on a budjet and I%26#39;m finding it hard to find a decent budjet hotel to stay in in NIce. Can anyone recommend one

Thanks

There are 2 budget hotels opposite my apartment near the Port which are modern and clean, not exactly full of character but they%26#39;re a ggod base. They are the Comfort Hoteland Kyriad Port Hotel, both on rue Emmanuel Philibert, I think the Comfort may be cheaper. Also for a %26#39;character%26#39; hotel, try Villa Tour in the Old Town, seems to get good reviews, also maybe have a look at Mecure aux Fleurs.

For just the 2 of you, perhaps consider renting a studio apartment, you won%26#39;t need a one-bedroomed, a studio would be fine for you and your daughter and a lot cheaper than a one-bedroomed apartment which are often priced for 4 staying. I spent 6 weeks in Nice with my 12 year old daughter (also from Merseyside!) in my studio last summer. You will also save on food and drink by self-catering, it%26#39;s very easy to stock up at the local supermarkets and it%26#39;s a great way to immerse yourself into Nicoise life for a week or two. A studio is basically one room, just like a hotel, ideally it would have two sofa beds or you could share perhaps or look for one with a camp bed and a sofa bed. An ideal one would come with a balcony and air-conditioning. If you don%26#39;t mind stairs, studios are often priced quite competitively in the Old Town if they are on the top floor with no lift.

best wishes

Hotel Solara is the cheapest hotel I have come across in Nice. It%26#39;s clean, small and has no frills.

You can have breakfast on the small balcony overlooking the Rue de France pedestrian zone and are near all the main touristy things. Just type the hotel into the search engine on this page to get more info. It%26#39;s only about 40 euros per night I seem to remember.

Hi

website for Hotel is www.hotel-solara.net

We were budget travellers when we visited Nice, and stayed at the Hotel Regence. At the time it had the best reviews for the price on tripadvisor. It was on a pedestrian only street which was nice, and was convenient for everything.

Thanks everyone for your help. I really like the sound of staying in a studio actually. It%26#39;s good to get recommendations for hotels when you%26#39;ve never been somewhere before.

Thanks guys
