We will be getting into CDG Airport at 6 in the morning. We%26#39;ve been looking at the various ways to get to our Hotel to drop off our luggage. We don%26#39;t think we want to take the metro after an overnight flight with our luggage and not knowing the city at all. We%26#39;re going to the 6th. I%26#39;ve looked into the Shuttles but they do seem quite pricey. How much does a taxi cost to get to paris? Suggestions please!

When you say %26quot;we,%26quot; how many people are you talking about? Shuttles get more expensive the more people you have paying individually. At some point, it is cheaper to take a cab. I think there is a way to get a group rate for certain shuttles, but I am not certain of the details on this. Also, some shuttles run specials or discounts which you could look for.

We have the same need - there will be 3 of us ages 14 - 73. In Italy we were able to hire a driver/van. Would something similar be available in Paris? Any suggestions on transport companies?

Shuttles charge by the person, in the €17 range. Taxis cost maybe €45-€60--the fare on the meter and €1 per bag. Taxis have a big advantage in convenience.

Just did this last week coming in at 6:30 AM from Washington, DC and going to the 6th. Cab was about 55 Euros. If you arrive on a weekday (as we did), plan on rush hour traffic going in to the city, so the trip will take longer.

I have used Elysee Cars several times and have been happy with their services. You can find them online at www.elyseecars.com. They%26#39;re more expensive than a taxi 95% of the time, but you%26#39;ll have someone meet you upon your arrival and help you with your bags. A taxi will cost you between 40-60Euros depending on traffic and all that, a private car will cost 80Euros or more.

It is a hassle to check out all of these sites--and more--but the prices vary widely. Also, be sure the shuttle takes you directly to where you are staying--even if it is in one of the outter arrondissements.

Thanks for the names of transport companies. We will check them out. I feel more comfortable having a driver waiting for us. It may be worth the extra $$!

Thanks for the information. There are two of us, but it does seem like the shuttle is a bit less than a taxi. Do the shuttle vans take you right to your hotel?...
|||
Yes--at least some of them do. On each of my last three trips to Paris I have taken a shuttle both ways and I have stayed in different apartments each time in different areas of town. On my last trip I stayed in the 20th arrondissement and I took a shuttle to my front door and then from there to the airport. No problem.
When you make a reservation it will ask you where you are going so you can type in your apartment/hotel information.

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;Do the shuttle vans take you right to your hotel?...%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;
YES...NO....MAYBE
With shared-shuttle services, it will depend on how many other traveling parties there are in your shared-shuttle van and the relative locations of all of the destination addresses within Paris. So...you could be the first to be dropped off...the last...or the middle. Drop offs FROM CDG usually go quicker than pick-up TO CDG.
