Help, Lille with questions.

My boyfriend and I are traveling in June. We are staying 5 days in Belgium. We plan to visit Brugge, Ghent, Brussles, and possibly Antwerp. We are still not sure which city or cities to stay in on our trip to Belgium. Any help there would be great, even though this is not the Belgium Forum.

We also are staying 8 days in Paris. We have one day extra in between trips and I am not sure if we should see Lille or add the day to Belgium or Paris.

I noticed that the train going to Paris stopped in Lille and that%26#39;s why I started looking into it. Is this town worth spending the day in vs another? Is it a memorable town? What is it like? Also, how far away is the hotels, shops, and restaurants from the train station?

Lille is a nice little town, and may be a good stop over to catch your breath before hitting Paris. The old town is a very short walk from the Eurostar terminal. I love it for a %26quot;quick french fix%26quot; as its only about 1 and a half hours from London and its great for shopping, eating and drinking but it is quite a %26quot;small%26quot; town.

As you have 8 days in Paris you may not need the stop over in Lille and might be better to add the extra on to the Belgian leg of your trip. However, if you want to compare a provincial french town to Paris then you may want to consider it.

I have been to Bruges, Brussels and Antwerp (not yet been to Ghent) and they are all lovely, although I would say that I wouldnt spend too much time in Brussels - head for the Grand Place and surrounding area - the rest of Brussels isnt really worth seeing.
