We have the chance to spend a couple of days in Alsace in late June. The last time I was there was some years ago and, as we stayed in a gite, we didn%26#39;t check out any hotels.
I remember both Eguisheim and Riquewihr as being particularly lovely and wonder about staying in one of these villages?
Any suggestions for accommodation in one of them - or elsewhere in the area, will be gratefully received.

There are so many possibilities in the gorgeous villages of this area, and much depends on your budget!
Riquewihr, though lovely, is hugely touristy and will already be busy with bus tours at the end of June, so maybe another village might be preferable.
A few modestly-priced recommendations from Sue Style a wine, food and travel writer based in Alsace, who writes for www.winetravelguides.com and many other publications:
Sarment d%26#39;Or in Riquewhir - %26quot;Simple, charming and warmly welcoming inn with modestly-priced rooms at the top end of this beautiful village.%26quot; Sorry no website.
Hotel Constantin in Kayesersberg - %26quot;Friendly, family-run hotel in former winegrower’s house in the centre of Kaysersberg. Only 20 rooms and always booked solid so plan ahead.%26quot; www.hotel-constantin.com
Domaine du Lac in Guebwiller - %26quot;Contemporary, chalet-style hotel completely revamped in 2006 with sparky, brasserie-style restaurant Les Terrasses.%26quot; www.domainedulac-alsace.com
There are many more expensive hotels in this area - all in all a huge choice. Depends where exactly you want to be, what you want to do and how much you want to spend!
Hope this helps - will send you a note also.

I did not make it to Eguisheim, but Riquewihr was both beautiful and packed with tourists until late dinner-time. I thought that the the Alsatian towns that were not bombed in WWII were all quite beautiful. As a result, we did not for a second regret our decision to stay in Bergheim, which was only minutes from Ribeauville (and therefore, not far from Riquewihr), where we enjoyed a pretty town with fewer crowds (but enough tourists to support a few restaurants, convenience stores, etc). We then drove to Ribeauville for an afternoon, and Riquewihr one night for dinner. Ok, so maybe while looking for a place to park we had a moment%26#39;s regret... But that passed. Staying just a few km away from tour-bus magnets will often save you a few euros and get you more hotel for the money.
