BluVan

So, after reading/researching numerous posts on the Paris forum, I think we are going take a leap of faith and use BluVan. I do have a question before booking, however. Our flight arrives in the afternoon on a Saturday. The BluVan office closes at noon on Saturdays. Anyone who has booked with them have an %26quot;after hours%26quot; phone number? I%26#39;d like to think that everything will go smoothly and we would not need to contact them, but you never know. I%26#39;ve put in an email to BluVan requesting this info, but thought someone on here could respond sooner. Thanks!

We have used Bluvan several times. Someone will be there. Do not worry. Do you have a confirmation from them??

I have used Bluvan about 25 times and have never had a problem. I have never arrived after hours though.

Follow the instruction on going down stairs to meet them at the door ( right inside ) there is a telephone for you to call them when you arrive usually they will tell you if the van is at your terminal or how long it will be.

You do not say what time your flight arrives.

Since you said it is a Sat. if the plane is delayed you will have big problems as many of the shuttles do not have after hour phone numbers.

If there are two of you I would suggest taking the taxi as it won%26#39;t be that much more $ and you will have peace of mind if you arrive after hours!!!

I have used bluvan 3 times. That is six directions, and I had a problem 3 out of 6 times. Once, I arrived about 30 minutes late and I could not get them to answer their phone to find out where they were. Finally, I got them to come get us, about 45 minutes addtional wait. The second problem was on return to the airport. They were about 30 minutes late to pick us up and they called our hotel to tell us they would be there within 15 minutes. 15 minutes, they called again and they ended up being over an hour late. When they did arrive, they had passengers to drop OFF at their hotel before taking us to the airport. Thank goodness we had given a lot of extra time, because we arrived about 1 hour 15 minutes before our flight was to depart.

The third problem was the biggest one. We were picked up at our hotel and I put all our bags out by the curb to allow the driver to pack the bags. My mistake was not watching them pack the bags. We were all packed up with two other parties and we were the last to be dropped at the airport. When we were dropped off, my smalller black bag was missing and my passport was inside it !!

I panicked thinking maybe another passenger took it by mistake. But, after running around the airport tracing our tracks, the driver called the hotel to find out it was at the hotel. The driver did not admit it was left outside, although I knew I had taken it out. It was the hotel attendant, that later told me somoene from the street brought it back in to the hotel !!! I then had to hire a cab to bring the bag to me !!! The driver did help me with getting the driver, but he did not give me a reduction in my transfer or offer to assist paying for the bag to be brought to us. Because I had planned out my euros and this unexpected expense was not included, I had to go inside to the bank and get more money.

I am not the type to not use a company based on one or even two bad experiences. But, after three times, I decided a taxi was a better means of transportation and I NEVER feel my money is wasted.

PS-I don%26#39;t think they answer the phone after hours as I remember having problems once calling them to confirm my transfer and noone answered.

Oh, one other tip for people wanting to save money from a taxi, but not deal with reserving and pre-paying a transfer. I have arrived at CDG and taken one of the van transfers on the spot when they did not have enough people. I saved money AND did not have to pre-pay. Ended up, we were the only people in the van and we were given door-door service at a great price.

We booked a sunday on the phone for a tuesday. Tuesday - no van. %26#39;Fortunately%26#39; they produced one in 30 min. Then the passanger (aged and not in full health) was dropped in the wrong terminal and had to take the airport train to make it to the right terminal.

They assured to call on Wed after enquiring as to why the reservation was lost and the passanger dropped in the wrong place.
