Cost of flights to Europe are always more expensive in summer season. Since you%26#39;re flying from Yellowknife, unfortunately, $2,000 per person may be the going rate. You%26#39;ll likely get better rates booking ahead rather than closer to your trip date, plus you get better selection of seats, considering the long distance flights.

We booked last Dec. for our flight in May. Air Canada had a seat sale at that time. Most of the seats for our flight are already booked and cost of remaining economy seats has increased by approx. $300.

I believe the cheaper tickets get offered earlier, and therefore sell out earlier. Also, your problem is the limited choice of carrier in and out of Yellowknife.

Have you considered breaking your trip into 2.

Step 1: fly to Calgary, and then

Step 2: onto Paris.

Keep in mind this may mean having to stay in Calgary overnight in order to ensure flight connections, but if you have friends or family there it may be worth considering.

Have a look at www.kayak.com to see what fares are available.

Last year, we investigated an airline call Condor when it looked like we would need to get from Europe to Whitehorse quickly and cheaply. We ended up not having to take that trip afterall, so I can%26#39;t provide any insight about the service, but I just checked their website and it looks like they fly out of Whitehorse, as well as locations in Alaska to a number of locations in Europe, including CDG for quite reasonable prices ($CAN) depending on dates. You might add them to your research. Web site is:
