Perpignan to lloret de mar day trip...

Hi. i want to visit some friends who are staying in Lloret de mar spain. Whilst staying in Perpignan France.

is there any form of bus or train service from Perpignan to Lloret...

if any one has done this trip could they please post details for me.

i want to go early in the morning returning as late as possible on the same day

it would cost £120 to rent a car.. is there public transport i could use

I have a bit of travelling in that area.

There is a direct morning train from Perpignan to Girona leaving at 0856 arriving 1040. From Girona you would need a local train to MACANET-MASSANES then another to BLANES and you would still be a few miles short of Lloret which doesn%26#39;t have a station.

Perhaps your friends could collect you at Girona if they have car? That%26#39;s 30 miles or so.

The last evening train back from Girona to Perpignan leaves at 1748. (There are later trains from Girona northwards but these go only as far as the border and the local French trains do not operate late in the evenings.)

I don%26#39;t know if there are any buses direct Giron to Lloret.

ie a meaningful round trip by train etc in one day is not really possible. Perhaps a night on their floor as it were and the 0955 back from Girona to Perpignan the next day?

Thanks Cubsur. That%26#39;s excellent information.. Maybe you are right, a day return is not possible. it seems like hiring a car maybe easier.
