Easter in Paris - will anything be open?

Hello everyone,

My husband and I will be going to France for the first time, on our 11th anniversary, and we are so excited! We were wondering, however, if perhaps we should have waited until a different weekend? We are really looking forward to attending Notre Dame that Sunday; can anyone tell me what all happens (or doesn%26#39;t happen) that weekend? How much does the city shut down from good Friday on? We would appreciate any and all advice and insight. Merci!

Hi, i%26#39;ll also be in Paris from Good Friday until easter Monday. I%26#39;m wondering the same thing as s-lauber? Thanks

Most of it will be open - check the Paris Tourist Bureau site for specific places you want to see

Great, will check it out, thanks

We were in Paris through Easter Week last year and at first were worried about what would be open and whether there would be crowds at our favorite places. We didn%26#39;t notice any of the restaurants or cafes or brasseries closed for the entire four-day weekend, Friday - Monday, and while there were crowds it was never so bad that we could not do the things we had planned. If there were no seats at one cafe, we walk to another.

Notre Dame and the bridges to the Isle de la Cite where packed with people, partly because of the holiday and partly because of the great weather, and it was fun being a part of the throng.
