Gonna annoy you all with one you've already answered

I%26#39;m looking for a single room in a comfortable hotel in Paris for 50 euros or less. I%26#39;m sure the world and his wife asks this one, so why shouldn%26#39;t I?

Not exactly.....%26#39;..his wife..%26#39; asks about what to wear and which shoes to pack.

I guess because I%26#39;m an independent female traveler with no desire to have a wife, I dont need to ask these types of questions? Or look for 50 euro hotel rooms???? : )

%26quot;the world and his wife%26quot; is an expression meaning , %26quot;everyone%26quot;, similar to saying %26quot;everyone and his dog%26quot;

Hi Chantal,

Hotel Jeanne d%26#39;arc Le Marais is around your budget, in a good location.

I was going to suggest the Hotel Jeanne d’Arc yesterday but it’s a little over your budget. They’re showing 60 and 62 euros for a small single. However, if you’re willing to spring for it, the hotel is in a great location (heart of the Marais). They’re almost always full so you usually have to book well in advance. Their web site says that there will be renovations starting in March and that breakfast, during the time that work is in progress, will be on them! Normally breakfast is 6 euros on top of the room price.

Hi, does comfortable mean a bathroom/shower in your room and do you need to pay your bill with a credit card? It makes a difference in price.

Thanks for suggestions everyone. I should have said I%26#39;m going in less than a month, in other words all the cheap places were booked up. However I found somewhere for 65 euro a night in the 20th so am hoping for the best. Good thing about Paris is it%26#39;s so compact you can always get into town in 15 minutes by metro.

Just curious, but do hotel chains in Paris offer the same kind of cut-price deals that they do in the UK? For example, I stayed in a Travelodge in London over Christmas for £19 (good sized room and bathroom, TV, tea and coffee making facilities), and although their offers are rarely as good as this, there is usually something in one or other of their London hotels in between the £26 and £49 mark. Other hotels offer similar deals, though not quite as jaw-dropping as the better Travelodge ones. Its just that these kind of offers just don%26#39;t seem to be discussed on the Paris forum the way they are on the London one.

Wansteader,

You’re right... I never seem to hear about special offers for Paris hotels. I talk with a lot of visitors to Paris and I often hear about fabulous airfares that were too good to pass up... but never about hotel deals. More often than not, people tell me that the hotel they wanted was full and that they ended up in their second or third choice. Maybe other people on the forum will have more insider info.
