Nice transportation: Individual bus tickets?? or bus pass??

We will be in Nice in July for 2.5 days. We want to travel and see Monacco, Cannes, Eze, etc. Rather than pay each time we use a bus(will have to have coins on hand) would it be cheaper and more convenient to buy a pass? and if so where can these passes be purchased from??

Eze is the only place within the ligne dazur network - this is the bus network for Nice and is coverd by their pass. For Cannes and Monaco, there%26#39;s no bus pass available, you need the TAM buses but it%26#39;s very cheap, only 1,30 euros last year, dropped to 1 euros this year I think. The fast 100xpress will get you to Monaco faster than the 100 and for Cannes, take the 200, but it takes forever and might be an idea in such linited time to take a fast non-stopping train instead for a few more euros. Allow a bit of time to explore Nice too, 2.5 days would barely cover Nice never mind everywhere else. You might be able to see Monaco and Eze on the same day, if you do a search in this forum, this topic has been covered a few times. If you are runnig out of time, I would try and see Monaco, Eze and Nice and save Cannes for another time or perhaps go to Antibes, it%26#39;s a bit closer than Cannes, again quicker by train but cheaper by bus, the same one for Cannes, the 200.

If you use the express bus 98 or 99 to Nice from the airport, this acts as a one-day bus pass, it%26#39;s 4 euros, so perhaps try and do as much as you can, say Eze at least to get best value, if you have a full day on arrival, then you could get to Monaco too, for an extra euro.

Apart from being very crowded, nine passengers squeezed into the one metre square beside the driver on one recent trip, the bus service is excellent. Fares dropped to one euro on 1st Feb for all journeys as far as Menton. I keep euro coins from change in shops and restaurants but drivers seem happy enough to deal with five and ten euro notes. Well, perhaps happy is a little strong but they cope all the same.

Good advice to use the still very cheap trains when going west of Nice, although many will run late and some not show at all.

Don%26#39;t forget, whether on bus or train, to validate your ticket by inserting in the yellow machine for each journey.

Although I am in Nice every month I have never attempted to understand the bus pass system, as I never do more than four journeys in a day.
