What's the fastest way to get from Florence to Perpignan?

I am traveling in May, and need to get to Perpignan from Florence. Could anyone please tell me the fastest way to get to Perpignan? I see that Meridiana Air flies to Barcelona from Florence, and I can take the train northward. Is this the best way? I was hoping to fly into Perpignan. Thanks.

There are no direct flights between Florence and Perpignan.

The best way is indeed to fly Meridiana to Barcelona.

There may be a Ryanair flight from Pisa to Girona but their page is closed for maintenance and I have not been able to check.

With difficulty , I was able to place a partial test booking on Ryanair%26#39;s web-site , details were :

Pisa to Girona , 1 May %26#39;08 , single journey , one adult , cost €29.99 plus taxes . Dept 20.15 , arrive 21.45 .

Be aware that there are only two direct trains daily from Barcelona or Girona to Perpignan. A 2145 arrival in Girona would entail an overnight stay until the 0955 train to Perpignan the following day. Unless you have a car of course.

The journey by train takes around 20 hours Florence to Perpignan (leave 1233pm arrive 855am the next day) but with a number of changes of train required.
