Based on suggestions on this board, we booked Michael at Parisfinds@aol.com for three days and his partner Scott for one day. Michael%26#39;s mother became very ill and ended up dying during our stay. So we had Scott for the entire four days. Scott was absolutely fantastic. I was so appreciative that Michael did not cancel on us and was so reputable to have Scott fill in. On the first day, Scott took us to Versailles, Saint Chappelle, Notre Dame and then for drinks. It was so nice not to have to worry to find where things where. He explained the history to us so that even my 13 year old daughter was entertained. He picked the perfect lunch spots for all of us to go to. He speaks french fluently so it was great. I told Scott exactly what I wanted to do. He took us to all of the major museums and we were even able to get in some shopping. Scott knew exactly where the best shopping areas were and what the best stores were. We could not have possibly done so much without Scott. We toured with him from 9:00 am in the morning until our last drinks at about 8:00 pm. He never looked at his watch and he was totally fun to be around. We had to tell Scott when to end the day. By the end of the week, we viewed Scott more as a friend than a guide. Scott is am American who came to Paris to sing. He is an opera singer and is a fascinating person. He helps Michael out when he is not performing. His knowledge of history is astounding. We did meet Michael on our last day and Michael seems like a lot of fun also. Michael is extremely busy and might be slow to respond as he gets so many emails a day. He is out touring most days, so be patient with him. He is definitely worth being persistent with. The 100Euro a day is the rate that he charged us plus expenses, i.e. lunch/drinks. I did not have to pay for any museum entrance fees as Scott had free passes because he is an artist. I believe you would have to pay for Michael. I felt we received much more than our money%26#39;s worth. In fact, we purchased Scott a gift at the end. Scott told me that they already are booking into the Fall. Our whole trip was definitely enhanced by having Scott.

I know these two guys. I had the pleasure of meeting them at a dinner at Le Train Bleu we had for about 20 of us arranged through the VirtualTourist.Com site.
I can vouch for them. They are top-notch guides and even better human beings.
