Greetings
We will be in Provence from Sept 11 to 25. We would greatly appreciate it if you could recommend a Bed %26amp; Breakfast in the St. Remy area and in the the Vaison la Romaine/Orange area. We will have a car and will spend a week in each location. Recommended things to see and do would also be appreciated.

Hi
Have a look at this link www.wine-uncovered.com/accommodation.html which gives info on accommodation in and around Orange and Vaison. When you arrive at the page, click on The Dentelles for B%26amp;B%26#39;s in Vaison and the area. Click on Avignon, Orange for B%26amp;B%26#39;s in that area.
We tried looking for good B%26amp;B%26#39;s in Orange but were not that impressed with Orange other that the amazing roman amphitheatre which is a must. We stayed at Ferme la Garriguette which is in Rasteau, 15 mins from Orange. Fantastic views of the Dentelles and the owners Peter %26amp; Joan (English) were charming. They have an enormous heated pool.
In Vaison we stayed at L%26#39;eveche - more pricey but it was worth it. Fantastic spot in the medieval village. We were also recommended L%26#39;Ecole Buisonniere run by an French/English couple.
Things to do - walks in the Dentelles through the vineyards, and Vaison is good base to see Mont Ventoux (amazing views of Provence). We also did two wine tours with Oliver Hickman from Wine Uncovered (the site, above with the accommodation) - one to Chateauneuf, the other to Gigondas. I thouroughly recommend him if you are interested in wine. He has reduced rates for people who use there own car to meet in him (we then travelled with him in his car to see the hillside vineyards and the wineries). Amazing wines and his commentary about terroir and its influence on the wines has changed the way I appreciate wines.
Also check out Nyons for the olive oil and you have to see the Palais de Papes in Avignon. Avignon is a wonderful town and very walkable.
Enjoy provence its an enchanting place

the best site for a general information is :

Can also recommend the Avignon et provence site.
We have used this one many times and found it always reliable:
www.sawdays.co.uk
There is not a vast distance betweem St Remy and Orange. Have a think about going east towards the Var region perhaps as a contrast.
Have not stayed at L%26#39;Eveche but I can say it does look a superb place to stay in Vaison - in the old town.
Would also back up the post that you would find the area around or south of Vaison preferable to Orange itself. Really beautiful area.
