If I plan to be in Nice the 8th of September through the 11th, and to go to visit St. Tropez, Cannes and Monaco, how would I structure my schedule - which place first? Would I try to go to Cannes before the festival (I am traveling alone using public transportation)? Will I find it hard to get around there because of the huge influx of people? Thanks for whatever you may suggest in terms of an itinerary to optimize the time I will have there.

Hi there,
The Boat Show is not one of Cannes%26#39; biggest festivals, so it won%26#39;t be too bad. Public transport won%26#39;t be affected by it either.
Assuming that you want to visit Saint Tropez , Cannes and Monaco while you are staying in Nice...
If you are set on St Tropez, one of the easiest ways is via the ferry from Cannes, which you need to prebook:

The St Tropez market runs on tuesday and saturday morning, so perhaps take an early train from Nice to Cannes on Tuesday 9th. They will be setting up for the show, but that shouldn%26#39;t be a problem and you might see some nice boats!. Catch the 10.15am ferry to ST which gets back to Cannes round 1800. Spend the early evening exploring Cannes and have a meal there, then catch a train back to Nice.
St Tropez is a long way to go considering you have such a short time though and involves a further bus or taxi ride if you want to get to the famous beaches. I would be more inclined just to visit Cannes including taking the short ferry crossing to the Isles de Lerins, and add in Antibes, or possibly go as far as St Raphael on the train (~ 12 euros day pass using the Carte Isabelle covers all of the coast ). The journey to St Raphael gives great views of the Esterel
Monaco and the east ,by bus ,(might be worth including Eze village in there too) would slot in the next day .Then Nice on your last day
Hope this helps
