Avignon to Paris airport luggage a problem

We are flying out from Paris at 11.25pm 29 June and need to get the train from Avignon. Should we spend time in Avignon..leaving our bags with the car rental co. or would it be feasible to stop for lunch somewhere on the way and then pick up another train? The trouble is what to do with our bags..are there lockers at the train stations? Any suggestions to fill in this day would be appreciated

I assume you will take the TGV train to Paris. Unfortunately I haven%26#39;t been yet to the Avignon train station (not the same as the regular trains one). But I can say TGV are direct trains and you cannot get off a train that rides at 250+ KmPH...

You can have lunch on the TGV as long as you buy it as soon as the the restaurant opens if you want more choices.

I don’t think there are lockers at French stations; we never saw any on a long trip 18 months ago. And I would wonder if the car hire co. would take responsibility for your baggage either. Avignon is a lovely place and well worth even a few hours of your time if you can manage it. Perhaps 1 of the hotels might agree to short term baggage minding for a fee. We did that twice at places we had stayed-1 kept a bag for a week. Pick 1 and try emailing-we stayed at the De l%26#39;Horloge Hotel, they were very obliging. Assuming you are going to the airport it is not much over a 3 hour trip. Avignon town and TGV stations are a long way apart FYI
