Hi,
I recently posted a message about a day in Paris. I was wondering if anyone could reccomend a decent hotel thats near the Louvre.
Is the Louvre far away from the Eifel tower as I%26#39;d like to see that aswell.
Thank you.

None of the main tourist sites are far away from each other ( perhaps excepting Sacre Coeur is farthest out), but neither are they all lined up within 50 feet of each other, so if you stay near the Louvre you must either take a bus or metro , or walk for 1/2 hour to get to the Eiffel Tower. Take the metro, 10 minutes.
A hotel near the Lourve, with a very good view of the Eiffel Tower is the Hotel Brighton, IF you take a %26quot;Tuilleries View%26quot; room. It is about a 2 minute walk to Lourve( of which you will also have good views) and 15 minutes to the start of Champs Elysees.
You will not find one hotel that will be close to everything ,, so get used to the idea that you will have to walk or take the public transit at some point( or take a taxi).

Thanks for your reply.
I dont mind the distance between different attractions, I just wanted somewhere reletivly in the middle as I would only have a day to see what we want to see.
I%26#39;ll check out that hotel thank you.

You don%26#39;t say when you are going or what your budget is.
If you don%26#39;t want to spend too much there is a good two star hotel near the Louvre and the Palais royale on rue Richeleau, Hotel Montpensier. We stayed there a couple of years ago and found the staff friendly, hotel clean and spacious(by Paris standards) and the situation absolutely ideal for a first time visitor. It is bang in the centre of the Paris map and within walking distance of most things. There is a very handy metro station just nearbye to take you all over. It is not luxurious but is very good for the price. Eat breakfast at one of the cafes around.
Just look up hotel Montpensier Paris on trip advisor or google it.
good luck

Also check out Hotel de la Place du Louvre on St. Germaine l%26#39;Auxerrois (there are some reviews on this site). We stayed there on our first Paris trip and the location was absolutely ideal - across from the Louvre, around the corner from metro stops and an ATM (can%26#39;t remember the bank, sorry), really just steps from the bridges to take you over the Seine to Notre Dame. The rate has gone up since we stayed there, but if you%26#39;re only there one night, maybe it won%26#39;t hurt as much.
Keep in mind that you can see the Eiffel Tower from virtually everywhere in the city, and many public transportation routes lead there if you really must ascend her. You might consider climbing the Arc du Triomphe as an alternate -- the view is arguably just as good, and even better if you consider you can actually see the Eiffel!
Safe travels!

Thank you for your suggestions, i%26#39;ll have a look at all of those.
My budget is around £400. and then any cafes/resturants and sightseeing on top.
Could anyone advise me on a budget for sightseeing and food and drink please?

I really like the look of Hotel de la Place du Louvre. Could anyone reccomend somewhere online where I could book a flight and a night here please?
