First Day recommendations, bus tour?

We are visiting Paris for a week at Easter (first visit). Arriving Easter Saturday we thought to take a bus tour as an overview (and with jetlag and a teenager museums aren%26#39;t a good option first off). We%26#39;ve found in London and other cities the overview bus tour is a good way to start a trip. Recommendations for such in Paris? Or if that%26#39;s not a good option, another first day idea, trying to get an overview and orient ourselves. We are staying in the 6th between St Michel and Odeon.

Thanks for any advice.

Sure...google for L%26#39;Open Tour.

Second L%26#39;Open Tour, there is another company ( Rouge Bus) but L%26#39;Open tour buses offer more routes.

Buy ticket when you board, no need to buy ahead and pay extra online like some people do!

A two day pass is only 2 or 3 euros more then the one day, so consider the two day pass. My 14 yr old enjoyed it, and I enjoyed the view from up top, nicer then the metro , even if not fast, LOL .

I would also wait to buy there since if weather is bad its not as fun to sit in the bus as it is on top in the open.

I would recommend avoiding a bus tour. If you are prone to jetlag, as soon as you sit down and the bus gets caught in traffic you will fall asleep.

Get yourself a guidebook you get along with (go to your local library if you have such a beast) and borrow all the books, then buy a copy of the best one for yourself. Work out a walk that looks about an hour%26#39;s worth and walk it slowly.

(It really needs to be said here, most of what people experience crossing from east coast USA to Europe is NOT jet lag - it is lack of sleep. Get on the plane, skip the meal and try to sleep as soon as you get on, and you will not experience nearly as much %26quot;jet lag%26quot;. It amazed me that people are so worried about seat back entertainement when they only have 5 hours available to sleep after their meal, drinks, checking the toilets etc etc etc..........)
