Getting to Stade de France from the 6th on a Friday night.

Can anyone tell me how long it would take approximately for us to get to the Stade de France?

We%26#39;re going to a concert there on a Friday night and probably will be staying in the 6th arrondissement and just trying to work out if getting a taxi there and back would be our best bet or would we be best to train it.

Thanks for any help.

It is always best to take the train to Stade de France, the trains will be crowded but they are frequent and well organised.

From 6e you should get the RER from Luxembourg and get of at Stade de France. You will have a 5-10 minute walk to the stadium

Thanks. How long should we allow from door to door do you think?

You%26#39;ve omitted the not-so-minor-detail of where your %26#39;..door..%26#39; is located within the 6eme...so it%26#39;s a little difficult to estimate a travel time without a Start point (DETAILS tend to MATTER)...but you can figure out the RER %26#39;B%26#39; ligne train travel time for yourself from the train schedule--

Sorry for not being more specific but perhaps I should have worded my question differently. I just meant approximate travel time so we won%26#39;t be late.

We haven%26#39;t actually booked our accommodation for this part of our holiday yet but were thinking of the 6eme as we will be staying there earlier in the holiday. We were considering whether it would be better staying at a hotel near the stadium.

Thanks for the rail link.

I went to the France-England rugby game 23 Feb. We took the RER C line from Pont d%26#39;Alma to St. Michel and changed to the B line (all the B line trains stopped at the Stade that night for the sold out game). We left the 7th at about 7:30 for the 9:00 start and were in our seats by 8:45, with no rush or stress at all. The impressive thing was the exit - I was expecting a nightmare at the station, but it was very well-organized and we waited only about 10 minutes to board a train and return to St. Michel.

If you get there a bit early there are many open-air bars and snack shops in the area around the stadium, so you can relax with the fans before the game (beverage-wise, only NA beer is sold inside the stadium).

So, plan on an hour, maximum, if you are getting directly on to the B line, and don%26#39;t worry if you are a bit early. I hope that helps.

Thank you - it does give me a good picture.

ABSOLUTELY NOT.....apart from Stade de France and Basilique de Saint-Denis...there%26#39;s NOTHING out here.

If the Left Bank is your preference--simply select a hotel that is convenient to the RER %26#39;B%26#39; ligne stations--SAINT MICHEL-NOTRE DAME, LUXEMBOURG for preference. This gives you a lot of hotels, in a wide variety of classes and price ranges to choose from. As an example (one of MANY) a great Parisian 3-star, located a block or so from the Entrances/Exits to the Saint Michel-Notre Dame station, the Seine and Cathedral de Notre Dame is--HÔTEL HENRI IV-Rive Gauche--http://www.henri-paris-hotel.com/

Or check out some of these good 2-star choices (among many), all within a few minutes easy strolling/walking distance of RER B stations.--
