First time for us. Can anyone recommend a nice but affordable hotel to stay at? My husband and I are going to have a car and wanted to stay at a clean nice place.

Cannot recommend anything personally but here is the link to the tourist office web-site where you will find all the hotels listed. Make sure you get one with parking as you are going to have a car.

Hi,
I can recommend Hotel La Ponche (and their restaurant too) for their great location, in the old town, right by the pebble beach behind the Tour du Portalet gun tower. While it%26#39;s in town, it is in a more quiet section of St Tropez.
With the dollar to euro exchange rate, it%26#39;s the %26quot;but affordable%26quot; part that%26#39;s tough. It isn%26#39;t cheap dollar-wise, especially during peak season.
One I can%26#39;t speak to from experience but is less expensive is Hotel Sube. See more about it on tripadvisor%26#39;s hotel reviews from folks who have stayed there.
If you can%26#39;t find anything within your budget right in St Tropez, you can always try Ste Maxime and take the 10min. ferry boat ride into St Trop.

yes you can stay in ste maxime and take the ferry 1omin but if you want to go out for noght you can drive during the day it%26#39;s awful too much traffic
there is a lot of hotel in st-tropez but be carreful it%26#39;s really busy in july
