tax free cigarettes

planning to use my allowance to bring back a supply of cigarettes to the UK when on holiday in Paris soon.

Is there ample stores who sell tobacco in volume (16 200 cartons) or is there a better way to purchase before flying home...dont want to carry it on via duty free would rather its in the case.

There is no advantage to buying in the airport as cigs are not really duty free anymore - you pay French duty (they have gone up a bit here recently - you will pay about 5.30-5.50 Euro for 20 - but still cheaper than in UK), so they will cost the same in any tabac in Paris.

Depending on what brand you want you shouldn%26#39;t have any problems. I would go to a tabac that is just a tabac - rather than one in a bar as a tabac shops tend to have more in stock (both amount and brands available). Go early in the holiday as you may have to go to two to get the amounts, or they can order it for you and you can go twice. A carton in French is called a %26#39;cartouche%26#39;. Where are you staying - I may know a tabac around there to try

Cigarettes in France are no longer the bargain they used to be following a big increase in prices a couple of years ago. The most you can hope to save now is around 20% on UK prices.

Nice hotel! There is a good tabac near you on rue de Seze - runs from Bd Madeleine to Place de la Madeleine, it%26#39;s on a corner, very easy to find, rue de Seze is only a very short road. It is also very good for cigars if you intend buying any

Almost all brands are 4.80 euros a pack. 48 euros per carton.The biggest problem you will find is most tabacs don%26#39;t carry very large supplies and you will probably have to go to half a dozen or more to get your ammount as we did.But you will come across plenty on your travels.
