It would seem most logical, then, to start at the Eiffel Tower, walk up to the Arc de Triomphe, down the Champs Elysees to Ile de La Cite to see Notre Dame, then wander the Latin Quarter from there.

That%26#39;s the logical sequence, I would think, but it%26#39;s up to you how far you can walk of you want to walk down the Champs Elysees!

Of course you%26#39;d have to take the metro back to the Eiffel Tower to see it at night.

Hi UK,

From the Gare du Nord you could get on the Metro taking line 4, Direction Porte D%26#39;Orléans, getting off at Cité.

That would take you to Notre Dame, and it is the most direct route to get you started on your day of seeing Paris.

After visiting Notre Dame, you can get on the Batobus to tour around Paris and get on and off as you like. There long lines for the Batobus in the summer, but that should not be a problem now. It is 12euros for a day pass, and it solves the problem of the Seine cruise. You can take the full ride around and then get off wherever you like, or you can just ride to the next stop and go exploring. It is a hop on hop off boat that you would use instead of the metro. You could make your last stop either le Jardin des Plantes or Notre Dame touring the Latin Quarter before getting back on line 4 to return to the Gare du Nord to catch the Eurostar back to London.

Hi - I just got back from Paris and I had the BEST tour guide. Her name is Barbara from www.paristalks.com You should email her, she showed us more in the 2 days we had her than the following 6 days combined! If you give her your list she%26#39;ll plan everything out for you (if she%26#39;s available). Good luck and have fun in Paris, it%26#39;s beautiful! If you get Barbara tell her Lilly from Minnesota says Bonjour!

UK,

How did your trip to Paris go? I will be visiting Paris in July and I am really looking forward to taking a cruise on the Sienne River. Did you end up doing the cruise? If so, how did you book it and how did you like it? Any other tips?

Thanks for your help!

BHappy,

The one that has been recommended to me most is Vedettes Pont Neuf. I was impressed by the online deal. I booked online and got 4 euros off each ticket. So instead of 11 euros it was 7. Good deal, I think.

Had a FAB time!!Feet were killing though but sooo worth it!!It was soo easy to getaround, bought a guide at the terminal, then went from Gard du Hord to Cite, had breakfast in a cafe recommended in the book, which overlooked the Notre Dame, over a little bridge..breakfast with beautiful views!!

Walked around to Notre Dame, then a quick wander to the Latin Quarter...got the metro to Champs elysees!!Got a little lost!lol and eneded up near the bridge with gorgous gold statues (where mariah Carey filmed Say something!!)Did the whole designer road!!Took loads of photos, then had lunch in a lil restuarnt on the main road...walked down to the Arc, went to the top...What views!!Stunning!!!

Found this lovely choc shop near Dior called Fouquet, expensive but very good stuff in there...different!!

On the way back, went to Lauderee on the Champs Elysees, GORGEOUS tea and cake room, really exquiste, very Ritz like, the desserts are soooooo nice!!(its on the right hand side away from the arc)

Seriously its so worth going here, there is always a queue but we didnt wait more than ten mins and trust me its sooo worth it!!

Then saw the Eiffel in the distance all lit up!!Made our way back to Gard du Nord by this time in need of new feet!Woudl def go again for a day, but for boutique shopping!!

From Train Station take bus 42 (follow signs) which will take you directly to Eiffel Tower with a little bit of sightseeing along the way. Then walk in the logical way that other poster described.
