Hi
I am skiing in Val Thorens mid March and am a red run intermediate wanting to get my parallel turns perfected. I will be on my own (as everyone else in my group is much more competent) so group lessons appeal. There are 4 ski schools in Val Thorens that I%26#39;ve seen and wondered which is best? They all seem to offer AM or PM or both (I plan for both) and need good English as my French is very poor! Also am I best booking now or in resort?
Any advise appreciated?
Thanks!!

hey both,
I am just back from Val T today, this was my third year in a row and I have used two of the ski schools based there.
In my experience, pro neige have a smaller class size than ESF and generally more competent ski instructors - I advanced much faster under pro neige than under ESF.
Only my experience, but worth sharing - and generally if you book online you will get a better discount - if you can afford it, 3 sessions of 2 hours private tuition will yield better results than 6 days at 2/3 hours of group lessons - cost will be similar and will also give you more time to master those newly gained skills - pole planting etc!
Enjoy and have fun

just about to book for half term week (feb) so can you say what the snow is like? Have been to Courchevel a few times and skied over to VT but not spent much time there. That is this years intended destination so your advice on ski schools is very helpful.
I have 3 children- the 11yr old skies and boards so wa planning on lessons for both and then twin boys who will need all day ski school
any advice as to whether the ski schools are better for children?
thanks

Leeds lawyer,
My wife has a picture from the balcony of our apartments a few days ago of an ESF childrens class, numbering no less than 16 kids!!
I kid you not (and pardon the pun!)
ProsNeige on the hand had an upper bounded limit of between 8 - 10
I still think that keeping your children on morning lessons only is the best way to go, that way - the whole family get to spend the afternoon together - quality time.
Hope you all have a great time - there is plenty of runs to keep all the family happy
The snow in Feb is really good - days slightly longer than Dec and therefore even more time on the slopes!
Happy skiiing
