Rhone River Cruise South of France?

Has anyone taken a Rhone River cruise from Lyon to Arles in the South of France. We are thinking of booking Grand Circle Tours. Any comments or suggestions from those who have done this? Thanks.

Don%26#39;t do it with Croisi Europe-a nightmare of overcrowding, tannoy shouting in 3 languages and piped music.

The river is over rated. Most of France%26#39;s many nuclear power staions are located along it. We have just had a week%26#39;s %26quot;holiday%26quot; cruising with CE from Lyons to Martigues-a terrible dump, arrived at after a day going through a huge industrial area!If you stop at Arles you will miss this.Arles is interesting and attractive but rundown and dirty as well. Lyons is a big city with a lot to see.

But think twice.

We were thinking of booking a CroisiEurope 7-day tour from Martigues to Chalon-Sur-Saone next year. It seemed like a nice small boat of 50-77 double cabins and having been to some of the areas on the cruise, we loved the French countryside there. Was the noise from the passengers or the crew? Was it in the evenings after dinner? Were there any pluses about the cruise? The boats look very nice in the brochures! Would appreciate your further comments about the cruise thanks.

I am taking a cruise from Arles to Lyon starting next Saturday, so will let you know all about it in a couple of weeks time.
