Hi,
My friend and I will be travelling to Paris in May and would like to seek some travel tips as we are travelling on a budget...
We only have 1 and a half day to walk around Paris and we hope to visit most of the famous sites during our short stay-
Here%26#39;s my tentative plan:
Day 1 - arriving from London via EuroStar..
Effiel Tower (to see the tower in day %26amp; night)
How do we get to Effiel Tower from the train station (Nord)? Can anyone help?
Day 2 - (in that order...)
Notre Dame Cathedral, Lourve, Basilica Square, River Seine
What do you think? Also, i%26#39;ve heard of the L%26#39;OpenTour buses.. but i would like to save abit of $$$... so do you think i can do all this by walking or taking just a few buses if required?
Any bus nos. to recommend?
Also, if anyone got any hostels to recommend that%26#39;s near the train station (Nord, i think) please do help.
thanks so much. :)

your day 2
Notre Dame is right by the Seine, so you can see both together. Even if you are not going to take the tour bus, it might be worth you spending some of your money on a River trip, as you get some lovely views and still see a lot of the city.
Lonely Planet and Rough Guides are good guide books for budget travellers, so you may do well to invest in or borrow from a library, one or the other.
Here is a link to the Lonely Planet Paris pages, most particularly accommodation for you:

Also Lonely Planet have their own forum for backpacker types:

Rough Guides site is not so comprehensive, but here it is anyway:
