After reading all of the forums that are full of great tips and advice, I%26#39;m posting my first itinerary. We%26#39;re celebrating our 3 year anniversary with a trip to Paris %26amp; Rome. We would love any advice. We are only days away from the trip!!!
We are staying in the 1st arron (Jardin des Tuileries) arriving early Monday Morning (3/3/08)!!!
I tried to stick with the motto: Do Less and Enjoy More!
Day 1 - Monday
==============
1. Jardin des Tuileries
2. Champ Elysees
3. Arc de Triomphe
4. Trocadero %26amp; Eiffel Tower
6. Walk along left bank
7. Rue Cler neighborhood (Window shop + Cafe)
Will I have alot of time left over on Day 1?
8. Fit in a boat tour?
Day 2 - Tuesday
===============
1. Versaille leaving from the Orsay Station
2. Return and check out Orsay Museum
3. Latin Quarter (Dinner)
4. Eiffel Tower at Night
5. Night Boat cruise this evening?
Day 3 - Wednesday
=================
1. Louvre
2. Notre Dame
3. Sainte-Chapelle
4. Marais neighborhood (Shopping + Dinner + Night life)
Are my days too empty? I have no sense of time when it comes to these land marks. When is the best time for a boat tour?
Thanks so much for taking the time.
Sincerely
Ben and Christine

Hi,
Looks like a good plan, I think you have enough to fill your days but at the same time have left time to do everything at a fairly slow pace, it is great in Paris just to spend half an hour every now and again having a coffee and enjoying the atmosphere.
A couple of suggestions though,
On the first day I would try and fit in the L%26#39;Orangerie in the Tuileries. It is only open after 12.15 for individuals, so perhaps do the Tuileries last rather than first and fit it in that way. The website http://www.musee-orangerie.fr/ gives times, and details for prebooking tickets so you can avoid the queues. I would think you would also have time to fit in a boat trip, you could take one from the Tower. I would also have a plan B for if the weather isn%26#39;t very good, it is a bit changeable this time of year and you have quite a bit of walking if the weather isn%26#39;t very good.
For the second day I would set off as early as possible for Versailles, both to avoid the queues and be back with enough time to see the Musee D%26#39;Orsay - you will probably want to spend quite a bit of time in there. For the evening I%26#39;m not sure about going back to the Tower after dinner, unless you plan to eat very early and rather quickly I would perhaps go there first, it gets dark here around 6.30 so you could see it at night before dinner. Re the cruise, I%26#39;m not sure it is worth doing a day and evening one, I would pick one or the other, if you want to do an evening one, again, you could do that before dinner (although maybe it is just me that doesn%26#39;t like doing anything once I am full of food and wine - you may much prefer to have dinner first!).
Final day looks fine, but again I would get to the Louvre early to avoid the crowds.
Hope this is helpful and you have a good trip

Thanks so much Alison for your advice. Orangerie would fit in perfectly! And yes you are right. We will only do one boat cruise. I just wasn%26#39;t sure when was the better night to go.
I really like the %26#39;Take a 30 minute break at a cafe advice%26#39;. It%26#39;ll give us a chance to relax and people watch.
If others have any other recommendations, I would love to hear about it.
Thanks again Alison!

I think there is enough time on day one for the boat tour, but why do Eiffel tower at night on day two when you are in the area on day two?
Day two obliges you to come and go as latin quarter is not in the same area
Day three looks nice.Try and find some time for Montmartre

You will be jet-lagged on Day 1, so it%26#39;s good not to plan too much. A lot of outdoor walking is a good way to stave off fatigue until your early dinner and bedtime.
I don%26#39;t know if rue Cler will be active on a Monday, though, sometimes shops are closed on Sunday, but if they%26#39;re not closed on Sunday, then they%26#39;re closed on Monday.
