Restaurants and Bars

Hi everyone

I am travelling to Paris with my mum and 3 sisters. We are staying in Saint Germaine in the 6th. My mother is in her 70`s and although very fit she gets tired at night.

So I am looking for restaurants around Saint Germaine that we can eat in at night, usually we drop my mother back to the hotel after eating and then my sisters and I go to a bar for a drink.

My mother is not into fine dining, she is a real irish mammy and likes plain food, (no offence to anyones mum)Anywhere that does grilled meats, fish etc.

Also cant make up my mind whether to buy the Paris pass or not? My sisters are not too keen on Museums and although its a while I have been to them all. We will do the river cruise, the city cruise and the Eiffel tower. After that its probably a lot of walking and hopefully just a little shopping.

Thanks - colette

Hi Colette,

If I were in Paris with my mom and 3 sisters, I don%26#39;t think that I would spend time in museums. I would just let the mood of the group lead us from one neighborhood to another, enjoying each others company, and stopping occasionally in cafés to rest and to watch the world go by, anything more would be like herding cats.

If you go to rue Guisarde in the 6th, not far from Place St. Sulpice, you will find a different restaurant for every night of your stay. We have been happy with Chez Fernand, le Bistro de la Grille and the Italian bistro just a couple of doors down from le Bistro de la Grille was recommended to us by an Italian living in Paris, but I think they are all pretty nice without being too expensive, and I love the ambiance of the area.

Have a wonderful time with your family in Paris,

thanks slowpoke,

letting it happen is kinda what I thought, but I do need some loose plans. My family think I am the %26quot;travel arranger%26quot;. Every where we go I sort it, the hotels, flights transport etc. I think I have usually done a good job, so maybe thats why. But for some reason this trip Im a bit worried.

Will check out the restaurants. Thanks
