We are traveling from Paris to Brugge early June (midweek) and then Brugge to Amsterdam a few days later.
Should we bother prepurchasing tickets? Do the trips with Thalys ever book out or are there discounts available for pre-purchasing?

Book as soon as the tickets become abailable, that is, at midnight French time, 3 months in advance.
I recently tried to book tickets for my inlaws on Thalys. 1 hour after they became available there were no more of the cheap tickets left

Thanks Wizard. I%26#39;ll sit by a computer for an ebay auction, so will organise the same for these tickets!
I think I understand it now. The Thalys trip from Paris to Bruges (via Lille) takes forever. So, it looks like Paris to Brussels with Thalys and then change trains for Brugge.
I looked at tickets prices in 3 months time and I should be able to get them as low as 20 euros for a Thalys Day ticket... (still trying to figure out what that means) or there is the Mini ticket for 25 euros.
Anyone know how much the Brussels to Brugge ticket is? Is it relatively easy to purchase when you are arrive in Brussels?

This ticket can be purchased right at the train station or even on the train. There is a small penalty for that (2-3 Euros) but sometimes it is easier than waiting in line and having to wait for a next train.
Brussels to Bruges is less than 15 Euros - cannot remember exact amount.
Re. Thalys ticket, you can also buy it last minute on line - there are often Paris-Brussels for 30-35 Euros and here in France I can print ticket myself on printer.

Okay, found the answer to my query re Brussel to Brugge on the Brugge forum.
Has anyone else come across a %26#39;Thalys Day%26#39; ticket before? It%26#39;s not listed under fares on the website.

Thanks la photographe, I actually hadn%26#39;t come across any info on the price yet, but that will give me an indication.
