Paris restaurants for good ole boys?

I am hoping to get suggestions on good places for food in Paris in June. My wife and I are more the casual, laid-back type (think khakis and polo shirts) than fine-dining types. We will likely be staying in the 8th, around the Arc de Triumph, but hope to see most of the city.

Khakis and polos are good in most places in June.

Except in the upscale places where you need a tie or jacket. Start researching the brasseries and bistros. I understand March issue of Gourmet magazine has a whole spread on this.

If what you really mean is, you want some good but not fancy food, I recommend eating roast chicken/frites, large salad plates, mussels if you like them (they come w/ frites, too) and so on at most any brasserie type place...

Also go for some Italian....

Also, line up for steak, fries, salad at one of the %26#39;Entrecote%26#39; places - nearest you is probably at 15, rue Marbeuf in the 8th.

As a fellow Hoosier, I%26#39;m assuming you are a fan of red meat. If you are, then I recommend you try Chez Denise, which is in the 1st, I believe. I%26#39;ve been there once, my husband twice. They do a great job with red meat, and they do a great job with all the things that go with it - salad with lardons (chunks of bacon to us Hoosiers), fries, fois gras. Be aware that the portions are large. The entrecote (ribeye) is great, but so are their brochettes (kebabs). You definitely need to make a reservation. Also, be aware that the seating is %26quot;friendly%26#39;, which I mean is slightly tight. We love this place, and hope you do too.
