Europe by train

Not sure where to post this exactly, but I%26#39;m starting in Paris so I figured this board might be appropriate.

My friends and I are thinking about spending one week sailing in Greece. We%26#39;d like to spend the previous week flying into Paris and making our way to Greece by train. Has anyone done this? If so, what route would you recommend? I%26#39;d like to start in Paris, go to either Nice or Strasbourg. Whichever the second city is pretty much decides the rest of the route. I know one week is a very short time to go that distance and see all of those cities (we figure it%26#39;d be 4 days by train, so we take 8 days total to spend one day traveling, one day in a city, and so forth). We%26#39;ve all been to Europe many times and agree the train is the best way to see a lot in a short time. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to routes? Sorry if I posted on the wrong board...

Paris to Switzerland is great and to travel through Alps into Austria or Germany is just amazing. You can then take the train south in Italy to meet your boat to Greece or train all the way down through the former Yugo to Greece.
