Appi Hotel in 2nd Arrond?

Anyone know anything about it, or the general area? I so wanted to stay in le Marais, but this seems %26quot;close enough%26quot; to my clueless mind, and the price is a dream. I don%26#39;t know how to make this a link: http://www.appihotel.com/info_uk.html

I would not advise staying on this street as it is a %26quot;red light%26quot; district. there is a good market street nearby, Rue Montorguiel. We%26#39;ve stayed in the are and liked it there. Rue St Denis is very seedy and very loud at night. Lots of guys on skateboards with boom boxes. Seedy looking nightclubs and tacky lingerie shops are all I saw on that street, other than the street walkers. Maybe others can shed a better light on this for you. Sorry, my opinion of thay particular street is not all that great.

That%26#39;s a shame...they%26#39;ve rennovated completely and obviously gone to great trouble to make their rooms look fresh and inviting. I was really hoping I had found a %26quot;hidden gem%26quot;! I%26#39;ll keep looking, thanks :)

Just like LA, as property values keep increasing these places will be cleaned up but until then I really think you should keep looking. Its one thing to walk down a streeet like this occaisionly and quite another to actually stay there.

We stayed in an apartment about two blocks from there. I was really apprehensive about the neighborhood. We really liked our apartment and the street market there was great. We crossed Rue St. Denis nearly everyday and it is not dangerous but is is seedyy and dirty looking.

We always stay in apartments now but we once stayed in a lovely buget hotel in the 9th called the Hotel Chopin. At any rate check the reviews on this sight. I%26#39;m sure you can find something in the area you are hoping for. I know alot of people say why pay more for a room when you aren%26#39;t there for the room but there are certian things like bed bugs and noise that can ruin your trip. Sometimes when it looks too good to be true.

paris is a very easy city to get around so don%26#39;t be upset if you can%26#39;t stay in the exact location you have dreamed about.

I just got back from the Appi Hotel. It%26#39;s fine. Don%26#39;t listen to all these snobs who want high class accommodation in chic Paris. It%26#39;s simple. You get what you pay for. The walls are very thin and the shower is tiny however, it%26#39;s warm and this is a nice, clean, friendly hotel in the dead centre of Paris within walking distance of the main shops, Forum Des Halles, Cinemas, bars, restaurants, metro, the louvre....everything you will need really! And come on, how much time will you be spending in your hotel room realistically? It%26#39;s just somewhere to rest after a long day soaking up the atmosphere in Paris.

My **hotel in the 2nd is the Hotel Vivienne. Ask for one of the very large and quiet back corner rooms.
